Calories don’t count when you’re on vacation at the beach. Therefore, you need to make plans to visit Five Daughters Bakery on Airstream Row for their doughnut debut — the Emerald Coast doughnut. Exclusive to Seaside, this doughnut marries the shop’s famous 100-layer croissant doughnut recipe with flavors of coconut buttercream, giving you the newest creation of mouth-watering tropical goodness. Heather Regan, the creator behind the Emerald Coast doughnut, was able to craft a visual delight of turquoise blue coconut buttercream icing, topped with white chocolate seashells, sea creatures and silver sugary pearls. The doughnut itself is a vision to feast your eyes on.
Each doughnut at Five Daughters Bakery is hand-crafted with no artificial dyes or flavors of any kind, so coming up with the unique turquoise blue color from all-natural sourcing was a challenge. “We wanted to honor the area where we live with a beachy doughnut,” says Nathan Daniel, manager of the Seaside location. “We will have some vegan options in key lime and coconut coming soon.” For now, you can purchase your Emerald Coast doughnut for $5 at the Seaside location during operating hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. or until there are no doughnuts left.
