The Seaside Post Office turns 30

Posted on Nov 01, 2015 in Post Office , November-December 2015 , 30th Anniversary

Seaside locals and merchants celebrate the 30th anniversary of the post office.

A dedication ceremony to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Seaside Post Office was held Oct. 23. Just over 30 years ago, the Seaside Post Office was established in what was to become a bustling town center to offer a sense of place and lend credibility in the Seaside community. Seaside founder Robert Davis’ aim was to create the perception that the community was real at a time when Seaside and surrounding communities were just beginning to emerge.

“We were trying to create a place, make a mark in the sand and say that there is going to be a town here,”
Robert Davis says of the post office.
