Spotted in Seaside! Shirts from the Dead Sea to Santorini

Have you ever spotted a Seaside T-shirt or sweatshirt far from Florida? Whether you’re the one taking your swag for a spin or simply made a pal because you bonded over your love of our beachside town, folks can share their stories on Instagram with the hashtag #SeasideSpotted. Most recently, I spotted someone in a Seaside sweatshirt in Astor Place in the middle of Manhattan.

The Seaside Times has compiled a few of the wildest sightings, from Taiwan to Mexico.

Seaside followers let us know where they’ve worn their tees, including Nantucket and North Dakota. Popular spots also included Disney World, Tennessee and Sanibel Island. More distant destinations included Costa Rica, Los Angeles, Paris, Hawaii, Maine, Germany, Spain, Morocco, Amsterdam, the Grand Canyon, Taiwan and Venice.

Evan Weinberg wore his blue Seaside T-shirt in St. Thomas. And Aleigha Pound wore her Seaside tee in the Maldives, where she “told the local Maldivians about Seaside being the prettiest beach back home in the United States.”

“I live in Indonesia and wear my long-sleeve Seaside shirt for flights and saw someone matching me,” @britt_in_indo shared on Instagram.

@Southgalflair says, “flying home from Cancun in August 2023 and ran into a couple at the Cancun airport.”

“I saw a shirt featured on a member of the Royal Ballet Company in London,” @allygatorgentry announced.

@Oliviatotherow spotted Seaside merchandise in the French countryside while on vacation and @therealnoryaga saw a shirt “hanging from a window drying out in Mallorca, Spain.”

@Tarabull80 spotted someone wearing a shirt in the Dead Sea in Israel. “Not quite Seaside but a different sea indeed,” she joked.

Sometimes, these sightings can lead to connections and conversations.

Jessi Cowan told The Seaside Times her husband Michael Cowan wore a Seaside tee in Santorini, Greece, during their postponed honeymoon. “We got married during COVID and came to Seaside for our honeymoon after our wedding in June 2020, which is when he got that shirt. Then, a year later we went to Greece for our original honeymoon and first anniversary!” Jessi explained. “There was a couple from Alabama, where we live, staying at our hotel also on their honeymoon who started talking to us because they knew we had to be from the states and probably the South.”
