Movies Under the Stars

Posted on Mar 01, 2016 in Central Square Cinema , March-April 2016

In a town celebrating over 30 years along Scenic Hwy 30A, Seaside still has characteristics that harken back to a simpler time. Many people travel around town by foot or by bike. Neighbors and merchants know each other by name and sincerely ask about your mother and her well-being. Dogs are often just as well known as their owners.

By that same token, Central Square Cinema brings back the feel of the old school drive-in theater, but with blankets and picnic baskets instead of Plymouths and speaker boxes. Starting in March, family-friendly movies will once again become a staple for locals and visitors alike. New releases, like “Inside Out” (April 1) and “The Good Dinosaur” (May 27), will join the company of family favorites, “Hop” (March 25, just in time for Easter!) and “Cars” (June 3), and time-honored classics, “The Mighty Ducks” (September 9) and “Grease” (September 16), along with many others to delight any and all movie-lovers.

Moviegoers will be in for a special treat as the Labor Day Celebration showing of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will divide the town into the Dark Side and the Light Side. We’re sure that family lines will be drawn, but isn’t that just part of the fun?

All events are sponsored by the Seaside Merchants. More information is available at seasidefl.com or facebook.com/SeasideFlorida, or contact events director, Kevin Boyle, at kboyle@seasidefl.com.
