TikTok user “Virginsters” shared her own story on TikTok over the summer, which was quite similar to the bestselling novel. The teen captioned the short and sweet viral video, “My The Summer I Turned Pretty except we are all besties and have been for about 15 years,” tagging Han.
The video showed scenes of the families growing up together in Seaside. The video’s creator frolicked on the beach in a pink Seaside shirt as a young girl alongside two brothers in matching Seaside tees, with friends joining them in town throughout the years.
As they grew up together, they spent time on the beach, at the amphitheater and even at the pavilions throughout each summer. Taylor Swift’s nostalgia-tinged “August” played in the video’s background.
Her followers adored the sweet video – and Seaside’s cameo, as that’s where the families spent their summers together. Throughout their time on the beach, the familiar Cabana Man blue umbrellas can be seen in the background.
“YES SEASIDE FLORIDA SUMMERSSSS ME TOO,” one commenter rejoiced. “It’s the Seaside shirt for me,” another person joked, referencing their outfits.
The video received more than 436,000 likes and plenty of support – with many young followers writing that they wanted their very own Summer I Turned Pretty moment one day.
