On the Porch with The Harrell Family

There’s nothing quite as special as spending a sunny afternoon or cozy winter day on the porch. To find out how Seaside locals embrace their outdoor spaces, The Seaside Times is starting a new series exploring some of our favorite homeowners’ porches and what makes them unique and family-friendly. Today, we’re taking visitors to Willie Harrell’s stunning home, In Surf We Trust, to find out what makes her outdoor space stand out. Willie told The Seaside Times, “We love everything about spending time on the porch during all seasons.” 

If you’ve ever wandered down Seaside Avenue, it’s likely you’ve seen the stunning elliptical porch with its baby blue ceiling, complete with a constellation, which is used for outdoor activities. Often, people passing by comment on the porch and its starry sky. The porch has been a family forte over the years, and the family has hosted holiday parties, birthday celebrations, and wedding events. It’s also the perfect place to cozy up with a book from Sundog Books. Upstairs, the second story offers a round bed for naps, which is so large it had to be hoisted by a crane to fit. 

The custom porch swings that flank each side of the front porch were manufactured by E.F. San Juan. Bevelo Lanterns, Nautical Lighthouse Lamps, and the Starry Constellation installed in the porch ceiling provide multiple lighting options. The custom pillows are adorned with the family’s nautical crest. 

“Each season provides a unique and welcome experience, and recently enjoyed even in the snow, proving that porch life in SEASIDE® knows no bounds,” Willie said.
