Central Square Records Staff Favorites
The staff at Central Square Records know their music. At Seaside’s independent record store, the employees continue to stock its shelves with a scintillating selection of vinyl.
We had another awesome 30A Songwriters Festival in January. The festival brings scores of talented musicians to the area to perform throughout various venues along 30A. We always keep an eye on new emerging artists, while welcoming returning performers from years past.
One artist who made an unforgettable debut here at Central Square was Abe Partridge, from Mobile, Ala. Dubbed the Alabama Astronaut, Abe recounts his early days as a Southern preacher and subsequent transformation to singer/songwriter/cosmic messenger. His high energy, quasi-mythological songs blew us away.
We also had wonderful performances by returning artists and friends, the Tall Pines, David Ryan Harris (also touring guitarist for John Mayer), and Chris Stills (son of the legendary Stephen Stills). Needless to say, it was a wonderful weekend of music during yet another stellar 30A Songwriters Festival.
There’s always something that’s piquing our interest here at Central Square Records. Our staff has always taken pride in honing their musical taste. Here’s a glimpse into some recent releases that we’ve been digging, care of the Central Square Records Staff:
Rowan Saunders, Eddie 9-Volt “Little Black Flies”
It’s Southern blues/rock with high-octane energy.
Kyan Jacoby, Les Rallizes Denudes “The OZ Tapes”
It’s Japanese noise-rock at its finest.
Kyle Klinger MJ Lenderman “Boat Songs”
This one is alt-country prowess with fuzz-infused guitar riffs.
Ella Reaux – Phoebe Bridgers “Punisher”
One of the fiercest and most talented voices in the music industry.
