Yoga is a great way to address your body’s needs, say certified yoga instructors Craig and Nancy McLaughlin, who teach yoga classes at the Seaside Amphitheater during the summer. With classes designed for all levels of students, it aids in resetting your posture, tackling your aches and pains and strengthening and lengthening the muscles of the body.
The McLaughlins are yoga teachers and massage therapists, and have taught yoga in Seaside for more than 20 years. They teach alignment-based yoga and have studied in the U.S. with many senior level teachers. “When someone comes to our classes, we are going to help them understand the poses on a very deep level,” Craig McLaughlin says. “Alignment and refinement is the key to the asanas (yoga poses). We address the discomfort and limitations of the body in the postures and use props such as yoga blocks and blankets and straps to make postures safe and approachable to all levels.
The yoga duo teaches summer yoga classes on the Seaside Amphitheater stage through Labor Day. Classes are offered Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 9:05 a.m. with a cost of $15 for the drop-in rate. Yoga mats and props are provided on site. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. For more information call (850) 960-7998.
