Every year, Seaside marks the changing seasons with traditions. Traditions like the daily ringing of the bell announcing the sunset from Bud & Alley’s Waterfront Restaurant, the decorations transforming the world-famous post office, or the anticipation of the latest T-shirt from The Seaside Style.
At the heart of every Seaside tradition is a meaningful experience and over the years, several events have become traditions in their own right. The Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Run welcomes spring (March 3-5). We embrace warm summer nights with the Summer Concert Series. And who doesn’t love the Halloweener Derby in the fall?
But, there’s always something special about winter in Seaside. Welcoming Santa and watching the lights come to life during Town on the Town, the Nutcracker performance, listening to the Holiday Pops Concert featuring the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and ringing in the New Year with Countdown Seaside are always something magical.
As Seaside events director, I always love hearing stories of families returning year after year, scheduling vacations around time-honored favorites, sharing pictures and stories from their past visits, or spotting a “vintage” Seaside T-shirt around town.
To our visitors, thanks for sharing this special time in our little town. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Thanks for being a part of our traditions and letting us be a part of yours!
All events are sponsored by the Seaside Merchants. More info at seasidefl.com or facebook.com/SeasideFlorida or contact events director, Kevin Boyle, at kboyle@seasidefl.com.
