Winding down from a dizzying summer of performances, The REP’s cast of characters takes a much needed break from the outdoor stage to prepare for a frenzy of fall and winter performances. This time of year is always a welcome relief, but it seems summer has decided to stick around and the only thing we have to remind us of cooler times, are those fall and winter traditions we yearn for. Many locals return to Seaside as crowds lighten. Homeowners pop in for meetings, activities and socializing. The REP keeps a consistently packed calendar of events that is ever expanding.

Musicians vie for a place on the stage as the Live@TheREP Concert Series picks up. While theater and performing arts are certainly part of what The REP does, the stage is just as well suited for singer-songwriters who praise the intimate setting. This year’s fall and winter concert lineup runs through mid-December and features nine concerts with artists such as Peter Bradley Adams, Griffin House, Amy Black, Freddy & Francine, Leigh Nash and Charlie Mars. The much-anticipated Tribute Concert is scheduled for Nov. 13. The artist local singer-songwriters will pay tribute to this year is legendary folk country singer-songwriter, John Prine.

It seems too warm to think about the holidays, yet here we are! It is time again for “Every Christmas Story Ever Told…And Then Some!” which is just that, every beloved holiday classic plus some oddities and pop culture smashed into a cyclonic performance by three highly experienced professionals. Entering its ninth season, there is no doubt that The REP’s company of actors continue to deliver hilarity in this long-standing holiday tradition. Every scene is reimagined, reworked and rewritten to include the latest in pop culture and internet phenomenon. The costumes and props create a spectacle that must be seen to be believed. The REP performs an abbreviated version during Seaside’s Turn on the Town holiday tree lighting and mainstage performances throughout the month of December.

Looking forward to the coming year, there are so many amazing artists who share their talents from the hidden gem that is The REP stage in the heart of Seaside. Escape to Create is right around the corner and many artists collaborate and share during their time in Seaside and at The REP. The hope is that patrons show their appreciation through attending all the amazing events and creating new traditions of their own.

The REP is a not-for-profit performing arts organization that supports all disciplines through collaboration with artists and organizations. For a full calendar of events or to purchase tickets visit LoveTheREP.com.
