
While on vacation in Seaside in 2015, S.W. Lauden wrote the mystery novella “Crosswise.” It was released Feb. 29 by Down & Out Books.
The author will be back in Seaside for a book signing at Sundog Books on Sunday, March 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Synopsis: Tommy Ruzzo is a disgraced NYPD cop who follows his coke fiend girlfriend back to her hometown in Florida. She leaves Ruzzo high and dry just before he’s named Head of Security at Precious Acres, a beachfront retirement community populated by wisecracking New Yorkers. Ruzzo is stranded among the local losers until the day he discovers a murdered senior citizen on the Precious Acres bocce ball court.
The bodies pile up as Ruzzo uncovers a dangerous trail of clues that brings everybody in his new world under suspicion.
About the author: S.W. Lauden is a writer and drummer living in Los Angeles. His short fiction has been published by Shotgun Honey, Out of the Gutter, Criminal Element, Dark Corners, Dead Guns Magazine, Akashic Books, WeirdBook, Spelk Fiction and Crimespree Magazine. His debut novel, “Bad Citizen Corporation,” was published by Rare Bird Books in November 2015.
