Back to School

Posted on Aug 29, 2019 in Seaside Neighborhood School , 2019 School Year , Back to School , September–October 2019

Founded in 1996, The Seaside School, Inc. was one of the first and is now one of the oldest surviving public charter schools in the state of Florida. Its original goal was simple — create a school to address the need for better middle school education in Walton County — and we haven’t stopped since.

On Aug. 12, we welcomed back 184 middle school students to our Seaside Neighborhood campus. You may wonder, what makes Seaside School so SPECIAL? The answer to that question is multifaceted, but in large part is due to the qualities and values ingrained in each student from his or her first day on campus. It has become known as The Seaside Way. The Seaside Way guides our students every day to build individual character and create an enriched learning environment in which they may achieve their goals and be the best they can be. The Seaside Way was not created in a day and is not simply words on paper. It was developed over 20 years and is continually practiced and reinforced. What makes Seaside School so special? It is the Support, Exploration, Accountability, Scholarship, Independence, Dreams, and Effort of our students.
